Homemaking Care for Safer, Healthier Living at Home

At Entrust Health, we believe that every person deserves the dignity of a clean, safe, and nurturing home, especially those navigating chronic conditions, disability, or aging. That’s why our Homemaker services are more than just household tasks; they’re a pathway to independence, stability, and choice for Medicaid members and their families across Colorado’s Front Range.

What Are Homemaking Services?

Homemaking services definition: Homemaker services support individuals with routine household activities necessary for daily living when they’re unable to perform these tasks on their own. These services are essential to maintaining a healthy and safe living environment.

Whether you’ve heard the term Homemaker service, homemaker and companion services, or Medicaid homemaker, they all reflect one thing: compassionate, hands-on support that empowers people to thrive in their own homes.

Through Colorado Medicaid’s Community First Choice (CFC) benefit, eligible members now have greater access than ever to direct these services with control and flexibility, especially through the In-Home Support Services (IHSS) model.

Medicaid & IHSS Coverage for Homemaker in Colorado

Under Colorado’s Community First Choice (CFC) Medicaid benefit, homemaker services are now more accessible and easier to manage. IHSS, delivered through a CDPHE Class B Licensed provider like Entrust Health, allows members to hire and manage attendants directly, with Entrust providing the clinical and administrative backbone.

IHSS under CFC covers:

  • Personal care
  • Homemaker and companion services
  • Health maintenance activities

Unlike older waiver programs, CFC does not require separate eligibility layers, making it simpler to qualify and start services. As of July 1, 2025, legally responsible persons (LRPs) such as parents and spouses can be compensated up to 10 hours per week to provide Homemaker assistance.
